Leading the trend – Not following it

SUSTAINABLY SOURCED SINCE 1996

High quality materials and sensible sustainability have been at the heart of our Essential Oil Shaving and Perfumery Creations. It hasn’t been a recent rush to send out the right signals, we have always believed that we can’t change the world alone but, like many others, we can help to do our bit.

Our 5-6 month average usage size is cost effective while reducing packaging. We have not used Sulphates, SLSs, added colours or tested on animals and were among the first in our category to replace Parabens.

Our first big change was to our external packaging. We replaced the traditional British-style ridged gift boxes for folding cartons on our main products. Our suppliers use paper sourced from sustainably-grown forests, we also use vegetable-derived ink and water based coatings.

We then exchanged both our glass Shaving Cream jars and Balm bottles for PET.  Both are excellent materials but with actual end-recycling rates being so very low we chose PET’s minimal transportation weights and significantly reduced energy and natural resources used in their manufacture.

Our weighty metalised Eau de Parfum caps were replaced by light weight aluminium a decade ago and the bottles, while looking almost identical, are now made using considerably less glass. Again, reducing the use of natural resources and resulting in reduced weight for transportation.

28 years on, we still reuse the packaging materials delivered with our components and we thank our chosen suppliers whose own company policies enable us to deliver our products in recycled tissue, board and minimum impact packaging materials. We believe beautiful packaging should not be at the cost of the environment nor unfair labour practices.

The giants of our industry invest heavily in improved materials and innovations such as vegetable inks, the non-carbon black pigments enabling black plastics to be identified in recycling and so much more. Small companies, such as ourselves, are hugely grateful that these innovations are also being made available to us.

We are constantly re-evaluating our packaging, our materials and supply chains to ensure that we are at the forefront of capabilities for a small family company.
